Argos goes for a swim
Het was tijd voor wat honden fysiotherapie. Argos' voorpoten waren wat
overbelast door het -te wild- uit de trein springen. Tuigje is opgeborgen,
halsband om, schouders koelen met ijsblokjes, en 1 keer per dag wat
zwemoefeningen!
Inge de Bruin is uitgroepen tot de beste zwemster van het afgelopen decennium: 2000 tot en met 2009. De 36-jarige zwemkampioene is inmiddels met topsport gestopt; ze won bij de Olympische Spelen in Sydney in 2000 drie gouden medailles en een vierde op de Spelen van Athene in 2004. Daarnaast behaalde ze nog twee zilveren en twee bronzen Olympische plakken en werd viervoudig wereldkampioene. In een verkiezing van de internationale zwemfederatie FINA kreeg zij 27,9 procent van de stemmen: iets meer dan de Oekraïense Jana Klotskova (24,6 procent).
Bij de mannen werd de Amerikaan Michael Phelps met overgrote meerderheid gekozen (75,4 procent). Hij is dan ook recordhouder met 14 Olympische titels, heeft daarnaast 22 wereldtitels en zwom 37 maal een wereldrecord. Pieter van den Hoogenband (VDH) werd derde met 3,3 procent van de stemmen, achter de Australiër Grant Hackett (6,6 procent). VDH won in Sydney de 100 en 200 meter vrije slag en in Athene de 100 meter vrij. Openwater zwemmer Maarten van der Weijden won goud in Athene en eindigde op de derde plaats in zijn categorie; Edith van Dijk tweede. Waterpoloster Daniëlle de Bruijn won met haar team goud op de Olympische Spelen in Peking en werd met 13,5 procent derde in haar categorie.

Yogi Man
The Legend of the Yogi Man (Orang Malu)
The story comes from the old country of Java. It is about a man, so ashamed by the choices of the human race, that he chooses a life of meditation in order to reach out to others as a teacher. As a humble and reserved man, his sacrifice was his offering. It is said of the Yogi Man that he cries for the sake of the world. Still, he can be happy in his heart because he has found peace and happiness from within by reaching one person at a time.
In the Yogi man pose, you will find the symbols of his teachings. If you see the Yogi Man from behind, you can see a human heart; the source of life and energy.
From the side, you can see the arms in the form of a fetus; the symbol of new life, purity and cleanliness.
If you view the Yogi Man from the front, look closely and you will discover his smiling face; the head is the nose, the hands are his teeth and the ears are his eyes.
Thus the Yogi man teaches modesty, strength, energy and the choice of rebirth. The Yogi Man expressed that life is like a circle. There is no beginning, no end, but a constant opportunity for new beginnings. The Yogi Man is placed I the room to the left as you enter, with his head facing the entrance. He will influence everything that passes by him with his calm, positive energy. Allow the Yogi Man to attract attention so that people will be drawn to put their hands upon his head. When the person is drawn to him, the Yogi Man serves his life’s purpose reminding us that through modesty and strength, positive energy can be directed towards new beginnings.

Wie is die vrouw op wielen?
Dit blogje is tevens het antwoord op een raadseltje dat ik ooit heb voorgelegd.
Gelukkig voor ons allen, zit de vrouw niet achter het stuur.
Want vrouwen achter het stuur, geeft bloed aan de muur.
Dat heb ik van mijn leraar Frans geleerd, en voor altijd in mijn oren geknoopt.
Wat misschien wel vervelend is voor de chauffeur, is dat de dame in kwestie, gaat zingen.
Het lijkt mij persoonlijk erg lastig, wanneer je moet autorijden.
Kun je op de foto al zien over wie ik het heb?

Op weg naar Klow:
Als bij een wonder heeft Kuifje de buiteling uit het vliegtuig naar Klow overleefd.
Hij zet zijn tocht naar de Syldavische hoofdstad verder langs de weg.
Eerst in een huifkar, vervolgens in een luxueuze auto, waarin de Italiaanse diva Bianca Castafiore en haar pianist Igor Wagner reeds hadden plaatsgenomen.
